Student Development - College Now
By: Christine Rivera
Truth be known, at first I did not even consider doing the Student Development class.
I have heard that many of my peers were joining the program, but it never interested
me. It did not interest me, because I did not really understand what the program was.
I began hearing from other students that I might not even survive college, without
taking the Student Development course. I started looking into it; I started to ask
around, trying to figure out what the class was about. Soon, I learned that the class
is very important and beneficial for me. The class I heard would help me prepare for
the whole college process. I decided, then, that I needed to take the Student Development
class because of how beneficial it was said to be for me in college.
I hope this class will teach me a lot of new things that will help me get through
all the years at college. While in this class I hope to learn to manage my time in
college. I also hope this class will help me ensure the college major and future occupation
that is right for me. Already, I have learned a lot from only two sessions of the
class. I have learned college vocabulary that will be very useful to me, such as G.P.A.,
internships and transfer credits. I have recently learned what it takes to get through
college. I need to have money for books, food and classes. I also need a good G.P.A.
I need to be independent and responsible.
So far, I am very happy with my decision of joining the Student Development class.
I feel that it will greatly help me survive through the tough years of college. So
far, I have learned a lot and I am sure that I will learn a lot more in my other sessions.
I think that taking the Student Development class was the right choice for me, and
I am very appreciative of all I have learned and will learn.
