A Reason to Celebrate

 

 

 

Dear Campus Community

By now you have all heard the news! The Supreme Court of the United States ruled that federal civil-rights law prohibits employers from discriminating against workers on the basis of their sexual orientation or gender identity.  This decision extends these workplace protections to LGBTQ+ communities. This is indeed good news, not only for our LGBTQ+ community but for all of us!  It is fitting that, during Pride Month, the United States Supreme Court has reaffirmed principles of human dignity that we have long held at Kingsborough, i.e., that no one should be discriminated against on account of their sexual orientation or gender/transgender identity. The global and national fight for the rights of our LGBTQ+ friends and love ones continues.  Let us also ​continue to be vigilant in our own commitment to equity and inclusion for all so that, together, we can move ever forward as a campus community, united and with pride.
