Important Middle States site visit updates

Dear KCC Community,
I'm excited to be making progress on the journey to Kingsborough's reaccreditation!
Our Middle States Self-Study will be submitted by this Sunday, and the site visit
by the team of peer reviewers will take place Sunday March 23th to Wednesday March 25th. During the site visit, the reviewers will confirm that the information in the self-study
is accurate and ask for clarifications and elaborations in areas of particular interest.
We are preparing responses to anticipated questions from the team and will soon meet
with groups that will interact with them. These groups include:

the Self-Study Steering Committee and Working Groups
-
Academic department chairs and program directors
-
Assessment Committees
-
Student leaders
-
Representatives of Enrollment Management, Human Resources, Student Affairs, and Student Success
There is a preparation session for each of these groups; calendar invitations have
already been sent.
While we are focusing on specific groups of people, all members of the campus community
should be prepared for the visit. The attached Sample Questions You Might Be Asked document gives questions typically asked at site visits. Some of these are about
your personal perspective (e.g., "What are our strengths/areas for improvement?").
Others ask about specific aspects of the college and how it functions (e.g., "What
is the CUNY Strategic Roadmap?") We've also created the attached Things To Know About Kingsborough Guide with responses to many of the questions. These materials are also available on our website.
Along these lines, we will hold two additional sessions to prepare:

an in-person workshop for members of the Middle States Working Groups on Thursday, March 13th from 3-5pm in the Mac Rotunda. This is for extra practice and for those not able to attend a previous prep meeting. Please register here if you wish to join this workshop.

a virtual town hall open to all KCC community members for a general overview of the process and structure of the visit, along with a short briefing on the self-study content. This is set for Thursday, March 20th from 3-4pm at this Zoom link . We will re-send the link in advance of the date and will not have pre-registration.
