Photography Concentration

Photography

The Photography concentration at Kingsborough Community College prepares students to use the tools and techniques of both contemporary digital photographers and artisanal film and darkroom methods. KCC Photography concentration students gain hands on working knowledge with our iMac computers, cameras, film, and darkroom facilities. Photography students take at least three semesters of photography courses (Photo I, Photo II, Art of Digital Photography) and learn the process of creating a portfolio of work. There are articulation agreements with several CUNY senior colleges - Queens, Brooklyn and Hunter including an articulation agreement with Queens College’s Photography and Imaging BFA program to have all credits from KCC transfer. Many career options exist for working photographers today, from photojournalism, forensic, and event photography to editorial, advertising, product photography, and portraiture.
