Ceramics Concentration

Ceramics

The Ceramics concentration at Kingsborough establishes a solid foundation in the art and artistry of working in clay.  Students are well prepared to enter a four-year Ceramics program, or to venture into an apprenticeship situation,  learning how to start and run their own small business, a truly practical tradition amongst fine artists.

Aside from its time-honored place in both fine art and contemporary design, ceramics provides a diverse range of practical applications in industrial design, dental prosthetics, and restorative forensics.  Moreover, ceramics has also long held a prominent position in art therapy.

Ceramics remains a lifelong passion for many students regardless of their career paths, providing a safe and creative outlet for recreation and communitas.
