OFFICE OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
A MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
Welcome to the Spring 2021 semester! While our classes are mostly online, Student Affairs will continue to support your educational journey at Kingsborough remotely. The Division of Student Affairs services, resources, and programs will remain available to our students via virtual platforms. The link below provides an overview of how our Student Affairs areas will engage and support our students while we are operating in this distance-learning model.
I encourage you to stay engaged with your faculty, advisors, classmates, and friends. Please check my weekly communication of news and updates sent to your KCC student email. News, updates, events, and programs can also be found on the WHAT’S HAPPENING link under our menu.
We have enhanced several opportunities to “check-in” with our Student Affairs staff via our chat function. We also recognize that these past couple of months have been challenging and may be overwhelming. Please note that Kingsborough CARES about you! Our Student Wellness Areas are here to support, visit HERE for more information. CUNY has also partnered with the CRISIS TEXT LINE to provide support for all our students. If you are struggling with any emotional or psychological concerns, you can text ‘CUNY’ to 741741 and it will initiate a free and confidential conversation with a trained volunteer.
We have several resources for student wellness check-ins, please visit HERE for more information.
If you require a laptop, tablet, or hotspot, visit HERE for more information on how to reserve a device.
We will continue to look for opportunities to engage with you via phone call, email, IG Live, or a Zoom session. Be sure to continue to check your KCC email for updates.
Be well and CATCH THE WAVE!
Dr. Brian R. Mitra
Dean of Student Affairs
