Cafeteria Food Program

Congratulations! You have been identified as eligible to receive up to $400 to purchase food from our Kingsborough Cafeteria! 

New York City Council, in partnership with the City University of New York (CUNY), will provide food assistance this academic year to selected students. 

Eligibility is based on the criteria below; you must meet all of these requirements:

  • Currently a resident of one of the five boroughs in New York City
  • Currently enrolled in a CUNY community college with at least 9 credits
  • Currently pursuing your first college degree
  • You have submitted FAFSA and TAP applications for the current academic year
  • You are not currently receiving SNAP
  • You are not currently enrolled in ASAP or College Discovery 

How it works:

  • Monies will be distributed on your KCC Wave ID card and can be used in the main cafeteria located in U building
  • $150/month will be added to your KCC Wave ID card ($20 daily max usage)
  • There is a $400 max per semester
  • Reports will be run to observe usage
  • Monies are non-transferable and cannot be used for any other individual

Please note the following:

  • KCC Card can only be used in the U Cafeteria
  • Look for the register with the “Kingsborough WAVE ID Card Accepted” sign
  • You can only use this card for your own transactions
  • There is a $20 limit/per day, a $150 monthly limit and a $400 max for the Spring semester
