New Information/ New Year

Dear College Community,

As you know earlier today, Governor Hochul released a plan which calls for CUNY and SUNY students to have a COVID booster shot in order to return following winter break (by January 15). Students will also be required to have negative PCR test and there is also a requirement for staff to be vaccinated.

You will receive a more comprehensive communication from the Chancellor/ Central Office regarding how the plan will be implemented at CUNY and on our campuses.  It goes without saying once again, this is a very fluid situation but also a situation that requires us to act in consultation with both the City and the State.   I will continue to keep you updated as information becomes available.

This is not quite the New Year's greeting I had in mind for you, but here we are.  We have come a long way these past two years, and I continue to have faith that better days are ahead.  My wish is not only for a Happy New Year, but for one that is both Peaceful and Rewarding; and one in which we can finally put this period behind us, but use the lessons it has taught us to lift ourselves, each other, students and the institution higher.
