How old does my child have to be to enroll at the Center?

The Child Development Center enrolls children between the ages of 18 months and 9 years.

Do I have to be a student of Kingsborough Community College?

To be eligible to enroll in any of our childcare programs—with the exception of our Pre-K for All (PKA) classroom—you must be currently enrolled as a student of Kingsborough Community College.

Is there a waiting list?

The Child Development Center has a waiting list for our day programs. We recommend that you place your child on the waiting list at least ONE SEMESTER BEFORE you need childcare. (See our “How to Enroll” page for more information.

* Only UPK is in session on Fridays during the Winter Module.

Each program at the Child Development Center operates on different schedules:

  • Morning Care (ages 18 months – 4 years): 7:30 – 9 am

  • Daisy Room (18 – 29 months): 9 am – 3:30 pm

  • Butterfly Room (30 – 47 months): 9 am – 3:30 pm

  • Rainbow Room (NYC Pre-K for All, 4-year old students): September – Mid-June, 9 am – 3:20 pm

  • Afterschool Programs:

    • Owlets (18 – 29 months): 3:30 – 7 pm

    • Firefly (30 months [2.5 years] – 5 years): 3:30 – 10:30 pm

    • Moonlights (Kindergarten – 3rd grade [5 – 9 years old]): 3:30 pm – 10:30 pm

  • Weekend Program:

    • Saturday Sunflowers (3 – 9 years): 8 am – 4 pm

 

Fees

Fees for the Child Development Center are due by the first day of each semester.  Please see the attached fee schedule for current fees.  You may pay by cash, check or money order.  If paying by check or money order please make your check or money order payable to "KBCC" and write your name, your child's name and the semester and year for which you are paying on the check or money order.  If a payment plan is needed, please speak with a member of our staff. 

All tuition, picture, and trip payments are to be paid through the bursar which is located in A-205.  Before making a trip to the Bursar, please make sure to pick up a Child Development Center payment form in the center's reception area which you will need to give the bursar when making a payment.  Bring the pink portion of the form to the center after payment is made.  If we do not receive the pink portion of the form, we will not know that you have made a payment.

Withdrawal from the Program

Children must officially be withdrawn from the program in writing.  An Exit Form needs to be completed and submitted to the Office.  Refunds are given in compliance with the College's refund policy:
