Dr. Mary Beth Dawson is a professor of Biological Sciences at CUNY Kingsborough.

Mary Elizabeth “Mary Beth” Dawson is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences at Kingsborough Community College (KCC). Dr. Dawson started at KCC in 1993, as an adjunct in the Department of Biological Sciences, while still a doctoral student.  She was hired as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in March 1996 and has been a member of the department since.

In addition to her work at Kingsborough, Dr.Dawson is a long-serving Trustee of St. Francis College, a private liberal arts college in Brooklyn, NY. She has also worked a health economist in the areas of outcomes research and the global value of investigational new drugs.

Dr Dawson’s commitment to public higher education extends to her family, as well.  Her older son, Mark, is a proud 2018 graduate of Brooklyn College, and her younger son, Harrison is completing his freshman year at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  Dr. Dawson lives in Rockaway Beach, NY with her husband, Mr. Matthew Charles, their sons, and their three beloved dogs.
