Message to the College Community

KCC's 60th Anniversary

From: President
Sent: Monday, May 9, 2022

Dear College Community,

On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his “I have a Dream” speech in Washington, DC; two weeks later, the State University of New York approved the establishment of Kingsborough Community College. Since then we have been an academic home to thousands of students who dared to dream.

This fall we will kick off a year-long the celebration of our 60th anniversary!  I am honored that Dr. Brian Hack has agreed to serve as the Chairperson of the 60th Anniversary Committee alongside VP Tasheka Sutton-Young who will serve as co-chair.

Special thank you to members of the college community and friends of the college (listed below) who accepted the invitation to serve.  We can look forward to a host of activities that pay tribute to our storied history; highlights the amazing accomplishments of our alumni and members of our college community; and celebrates our legacy of success.
