Laura Armour's story

From: President
Sent: Wednesday, October 26, 2022

Dear College Community,

October is recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I am proud that we have joined together through Play for Pink to bring awareness to a disease that according to the research 1 in 8 women will experience in her life time.  And while women are most affected, men can get breast cancer too.  According to the CDC, about 1 in every 100 person diagnosed with breast cancer is a man.

We all know someone or know someone, who knows someone who has been diagnosed, who lost their battle, who are survivors and who continue to battle the disease.    We have students and colleagues among us who fall into to each of these categories. By wearing pink today and coming together as a community we message to them that we stand with them in their fight.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Laura Armour for sharing her story with us.   We stand with you.
