Expanding our Footprint/ Advancing our Mission

Dear College Community,

On January 31, 2022, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved the college's new leased site in Cypress Hills located at 276 Chestnut Street, Brooklyn, NY. The larger and new facility of which KCC will lease space is supported by the Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation (CHLDC - https://www.cypresshills.org/), a community and non-profit organization partner. The mission of CHLDC is "to build an equitable East New York, where youth and adults achieve educational and economic success, secure and preserve affordable housing, and develop leadership skills to transform their lives and community."  This mixed used building will also house other amenities for 300 housing units.  We are excited to be an educational partner in this work.

Pending the review and approval by the NYC Corporate Council Department, the Divisions of  Academic Affairs and the division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education will collaborate to offer non-credit and credit courses starting in Fall 2022 and/or Spring 2023. The College will begin a major marketing campaign prior to the fall to engage the community and elected officials of our presence this summer.  Community residents and eligible applicants of Cypress Hills will have the opportunity to apply and enroll in the college’s KCC Flex  online programs until we can offer in-person classes at the site. 

We are excited about this opportunity to expand our footprint in Brooklyn and our advance our mission to offer high quality and affordable programming that will prepare a new cadre of graduates for transfer and the workforce.
