Dear Campus Community,

In addition, as Ms. St. Hilaire shared earlier today, based on the CDC updates we have created a response guide that you can refer to for COVID exposure protocols https://inside.kingsborough.edu/response/. Special thank you to Asif Hussain and his team for developing this user friendly guide.  Please continue to contact the KCC COVID Response team with all updates - kcc.covidresponse@kbcc.cuny.edu. Although there was a report of 11 cases this week, I am grateful that these numbers continue decrease.   

Please be reminded that effective Monday, February 28th employees will be expected to spend 70% of their time on campus working and 30% working remotely.  This will be accomplished over the course of two weeks or 10 days. Operationally, it means that employees will be expected to work from campus 7 days, and remotely for 3 days. 

VP Rios will be updating the campus on health and safety efforts in a more detailed communication next week.

Classes start on March 5th. Students are required to upload proof of vaccination status by February 26th.  Students taking in-person or hybrid courses must be fully vaccinated when classes begin, meaning unvaccinated students will be withdrawn before classes begin if they do not meet the below guidelines and deadlines:

  • 1/22/22 deadline for first dose of Moderna

  • 1/29/22 deadline for first dose of Pfizer

  • 2/19/22 deadline for single dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine

  • 2/26/22 deadline to upload proof of vaccination documents to CUNYfirst

We await guidance regarding faculty and staff vaccination requirements.

We continue to employ numerous efforts to increase enrollment.  Overall we are 6.7% above where we were last year (5,733 vs 4,897) but continue to struggle with the enrollment of our continuing degree students (3,332 vs 3,438). We are currently -1.8% percent behind where we were this time last year.   If you are interested in participating in social media outreach campaigns, please inform VP Todmann (Cheryl.Todmann@kbcc.cuny.edu).
