Kingsborough Community College’s student journal of arts, “Antheon,” was named a 2024 American Graphic Design Awards winner in the "Student Work" category by Graphic Design USA (GDUSA). Once again, KCC was the only community college to receive this recognition.

Now in its 61st year, GDUSA’s annual showcase reflects graphic design’s power to shape and serve commerce and culture. The award is open to design firms and studios, ad and creative agencies, in-house departments, freelancers, students, and more. They received over 8,000 entries, of which nearly 800 were chosen. In addition to being featured on the GDUSA website, "Antheon" will be included in a printed catalog featuring the winners.

Produced annually under the watchful eye of KCC’s graphic design and illustration program director, Prof. Kristin Derimanova, “Antheon” features visual art, fiction, and poetry by Kingsborough students. KCC selects a new team of graphic design majors each fall to serve as editors and designers. Ronald Halili, Maria Osypenko, and Alica Pinitsa designed the 2024 journal. Prof. Anthony Iantosca of the English department and Robert Wong from Student Publications served as advisors.

“Antheon” is published at the end of each spring semester. While the deadline for the 2025 edition has passed, submissions are accepted year-round from enrolled students of any major. For information on how to submit their work, KCC students can visit http://tinyurl.com/58pmwask.
