Hello Prospective International Student,
Thank you for your interest in our ESL program. As an international student, there are three steps that you must complete in order to study in the United States.
You must register and be accepted into our ESL program. The registration can be done
in person (Room T-231), phone (718-368-4780) or email (ESL_KELI@kbcc.cuny.edu).
A $30 deposit is required for pre-registration. Once you pre-register, you will be given an acceptance letter.
You must show that you qualify for the I-20. The I-20 form is an immigration document that shows eligibility for the F-1 Nonimmigrant Student Status. You may download the application by clicking on the following link: ESL I-20 form and Checklist
Lastly, once you have been issued and received your I-20 form, you must make an appointment
at the US Embassy to apply for an F-1 visa.
Once you have been approved for the F-1 visa, you can enter the United States no earlier than 30 days prior to the start date of your I-20.
Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the International Student Affairs Office at ISA@KBCC.CUNY.EDU or 718-368-6800.
