Graduate Salute 2020
Hello Kingsborough Graduates!
A decision has been made to host a virtual celebration for the graduates of August 2019, January 2020, and June 2020 in place of our on-campus ceremony. You will still graduate and your degree will be conferred, however we will celebrate your individual achievements, and your collective successes as a class differently this year.
The Kingsborough Graduate Salute will launch on Tuesday, June 16 at 11am and will be available on the college website for replay.
We are working with Marching Order to host a virtual program. The program will include a message from the president of Kingsborough, greetings from guest speakers and conclude with a presentation of the graduates. You will each be able to upload a photo of yourself along with a quote or note of thanks (photos/quotes that are inappropriate or include any sort of derogatory messages will not be approved). In addition, you will be able to phonetically spell your name or record it so that the name reader appropriately pronounces it when your slide is shown.
A personalized link with login information has been emailed to your student email address already. If you are unable to access your student email or did not receive instructions to “Create Your Graduation Slide”, send an email to commencement@kbcc.cuny.edu with your name and EMPLID so we can help. Please complete this by Wednesday, May 20, 2020, 11:59pm. NOW EXTENDED TO: Monday, June 1, 11:59pm
Who will be included in this celebration?
Graduates from August 2019, January 2020, and June 2020 will be included in the Graduate Salute. August 2020 graduates are a part of the following graduating class and will not be able to participate.
Can I still order a cap and gown?
If you’d like a cap and gown as a memento simply go to this website to order one to be shipped to your home: https://kingsborough.shopoakhalli.com DEADLINE: Wednesday, May 20, 2020, 11:59pm. NEW DEADLINE: Monday, June 1, 11:59pm. There is no charge to you for your cap and gown and it is yours to keep. Please note: your cap and gown will get to you in time for June 16, but will not get to you in time to submit your photo for the slide.
Can I still order a class ring?

What about yearbook photos?
We are working with the photographers to identify how students will be able to take their photos for the yearbook once it is deemed safe to do so. We will let you know more about this as soon as we have the information.

We at Kingsborough salute all of your achievements and successes. This is a time to celebrate!
