August Commencement F.A.Q. s

I will be taking Summer 2018 classes, but still want to walk in the June ceremony

  • You MAY be eligible to walk in the June 2018 commencement.
  • You will need to complete a "Permission to March in June Commencement" form and submit it to

A-216 along with a copy of your degree audit no later than May 11, 2018.

  •  You must have a GPA of at least 2.0 and taking no more than 2 classes during the summer         module.
  • You will still need to apply for an August degree to graduate.  Please log-in to your CUNYFirst account and "Apply for your Degree" between June 20, 2018 and July 5, 2018 to complete this process.
  • You will be notified after May 21, 2018 if you are eligible to march in the June ceremony.  Please remember, participation in the Commencement ceremony does not signify graduation.

I will still be taking classes in the fall of 2018
    You are NOT permitted to walk in the June 2018 Commencement. 

Do I need tickets to the commencement ceremony?

  • There are no tickets.  If you are eligible to participate in the ceremony, you will receive an invitation to the ceremony.  This invitation will serve as your ticket.  Since space is limited, we ask that you limit your guests to 4.
