General Questions

A. CUNYfirst ID is a unique eight-digit personal identification number used in the CUNYfirst system used as a Student ID or Employee ID. It's important to record your eight-digit CUNYfirst ID! From now on, it will be used to identify you in CUNYfirst and across campus.

Also, please make a note of your CUNYfirst username (which includes your first dot last name followed by the last two digits of your CUNYfirst ID).

A. Your password must be:

  • at least 8 characters long.
  • contain at least 1 uppercase letter.
  • contain at least one numeric char OR one special character.
  • must not be one of 4 previous passwords.

Note: Your password will expire 90 days after the last password change. The system will prompt you to change your password.

A. Visit the  CUNYfirst  website, choose Forgot your Password, and follow the instructions.

A. No. You are required to use your KCC email account.
If you have not activated your Kingsborough student email account please do so now.

A. Yes, but you have to use Mozilla Firefox.

  • For PC's Internet Explorer is the best choice.
  • For Mac's CUNYfirst will also work on Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

A. Once you're logged in, on the left hand menu select Self Service, then select Student Center. Scroll down and edit your Personal Information. Hit Save and log out.

When you log back in in about 30 minutes, you should notice that the banner now reads "Kingsborough Community College."

Student Records Questions

A. Students may add/edit their Home, Mail, and Billing addresses through self-service in CUNYfirst.

Note: Student must visit the Registrar office in Room A101 to change their permanent address. Changes to student's name, date of birth and social security number can also be made in the same location.   

A. Students are able to view the schedule of classes through the self-service in CUNYfirst.

A. For courses such as CSCI 012, the course number must be entered as "12" or, alternatively, you can change "is exactly" to "contains" in the course number box on the class schedule search page (in which case 012 will be recognized).Some departments have courses listed under multiple headings, e.g., "Art History" and "Studio Art".

A. Once you log in, you can click on Self Service for a variety of enrollment/registration tasks including: browsing the course catalog, adding/dropping classes, and viewing your schedule.

A. Students can access two types of transcripts:

  • Unofficial transcripts are available in CUNYfirst to view, print or save in a PDF format.
  • Official transcripts are available through the Transcript Ordering link on the Student Center page View Order Official Transcript  [PDF] or click on the direct  link

A. Course History displays a grid of every course a student has previously taken and plan on taking (including transfer and/or test credit) with units and grade.

A. Students may visit Office of the Registrar for information.

A. Student Center is a self-service "dashboard" used by student to manage their own administrative activities, e.g., enroll in classes, view class schedules, view and pay bills, etc.

Financial Questions

A. Yes, partial payments are allowed, however it is strongly advised that you pay your bill in full by the due date. For cancellation purposes, anticipated financial aid and third party contracts are considered payments.

Note: Students who do not have payments against their accounts, their enrollment (registration) may be cancelled.

A. Yes, credit card payments can only be made via your  CUNYfirst  account and will be processed by Kingsborough College's third party credit card processor.

    Note: MasterCard and Discover Card are accepted credit cards. You will be charged a non-refundable 2.65% convenience fee in addition to the tuition and fees. The College will not accept credit card payments directly at the Bursar's window for the payment of tuition and fees.

A. Yes. Students who pay through electronic fund transfers will not be charged a processing fee.

A. No , Bills and receipts will no longer be mailed out. However, you can log onto your CUNYfirst account to view you account balance at any time.
