Joanna Agnello

Joanna Agnello

Lecturer – Department of Behavioral Sciences

Joanna Agnello, LMHC, LPC, M.A., Ed.M is a full-time lecturer in the Behavioral Sciences Department teaching undergraduate psychology courses.   Joanna is also a licensed mental health clinician and has worked with diverse populations on a clinical level.   Joanna is a graduate from the Honors Program at CUNY, Brooklyn College with an undergraduate degree in Psychology.   Joanna continued her graduate studies at Teachers College, Columbia University earning a Master of Arts degree in Social-Organizational Psychology and a Master of Education in Psychological Counseling with a specialization in School Counseling.  

During her time at Teachers College. Columbia University Joanna worked as a Research Assistant and as a Teaching Assistant.   While earning her second Master’s degree at Columbia University Joanna started teaching undergraduate psychology courses.   Joanna has also worked as a School Counselor in the NYC Department of Education and has worked as a consultant helping to design and implement a variety of social-emotional curriculum in NYC public schools. Joanna has worked in various roles at Kingsborough Community College as a Career Counselor, Academic Advisor, Mental Health Counselor and Adjunct Lecturer.   As a CUNY graduate Joanna has a passion for working with CUNY students and has a true passion for teaching psychology.
