KCC’s "UnHomeless NYC" Exhibition Travels to Manhattan

If you missed seeing the “UnHomeless NYC” exhibition at the Kingsborough Art Museum or want to delve more deeply into its subject matter, you’ll have the opportunity when it opens at the Hudson Guild Gallery on February 8.

Curated by photograph professor Tommy Mintz, art history professor Midori Yamamura, both of KCC’s art department, and KCC criminal justice professor Jason Leggett, the pedagogical exhibition brings together socially engaged artists, activists, policy entrepreneurs and displaced individuals to confront popular notions of home and how all humans have the right to shelter, security, and structural equality.

The exhibition will be coupled with events that connect artists, students, educators, and activists in order to understand the critical issues surrounding the problem and explore ways to resolve it.

Hudson Guild Gallery is located at 441 W. 26th Street in Manhattan, easily reachable via the C or E train to West 23rd Street, with some events and film screenings held at People's Forum at 320 West 37th Street. A full schedule can be accessed by clicking this link: UnHomeless NYC schedule.

The exhibition runs from February 8 to April 3, 2024. Viewing hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
