Assistant Professor – Department of Physical Sciences

Dr. Steven Jaret is an Assistant Professor of Earth and Planetary Science in the Department of Physical Sciences. Dr. Jaret is a geologist who focuses his research in two main themes: i) meteorites and meteorite craters on the Earth and ii) geology of New York City and southern New England. He is also an avid supporter of science communication and has worked as a science communicator and as an instructor with the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science. Prior to arriving at Kingsborough Community College, Dr. Jaret was a postdoctoral research and teaching fellow at the American Museum of Natural History, a Ph.D student at Stony Brook University, a Masters student at Harvard University, and an undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
