CARL SCHLACHTE

Assistant Professor– Department of English

Carl Schlachte specializes in the teaching of first-year writing. His research focuses on composition pedagogy, writing program administration, and the role of classroom emotions. He received his PhD in English, concentrated in Rhetoric and Composition, from UNC Greensboro in 2019. Most recently, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Writing Department in Colby College. He has also taught at Brooklyn College and LaGuardia Community College.
