Employee of the Month: Wanda Morales

Kingsborough Community College (KCC) is proud to congratulate Wanda Morales as KCC’s February 2021 Employee of the Month. 

A Brooklyn resident, Wanda has been an employee at KCC for 31 years. She currently works in the Office of College Advancement (OCA) as the Director of Funds Management. Her duties include addressing and advising on all personnel, budgetary, fiscal, and maintenance issues for KCC’s CUNY Research Foundation grants. It’s heavy-duty work that she thoroughly enjoys.

“I like working in the Office of College Advancement. Besides that, this is the office where faculty and staff can go if they would like to apply for grants. The OCA also works with individuals, foundations, corporations, corporate foundation and government entities to raise funds to support the needs of the students, faculty and scholastic activities.  As part of the Development Office within the OCA, I love to be able to support our mission."

Wanda’s willingness to help whenever possible is what she’s known for. As stated in one of her nominations for Employee of the Month, “Everyone enjoys collaborating with and receiving advice from Ms. Morales. We are convinced that her initials stand for wonderful & marvelous.” 

Wanda gracefully accepts the compliment. “As part of the KCC family, every time I hear about a student that has succeeded and that their foundation is from KCC, that makes me proud.”

On Wanda’s personal time, when she is not helping faculty and staff, she attends church, visits family, and spends time with her two children. She is also a proud KCC graduate.

Congratulations, Wanda, on receiving KCC’s Employee of the Month Award for your continued years of service, and for being available to address and advise faculty and staff on key funding issues.
