Description

This training program provides students with the foundation of working in a home setting and providing care ranging from personal care for the elderly, disabled, and infants to taking vital signs. Home Health Aides (HHA) provide professional healthcare in a patient’s environment, including assisting clients in personal care, escorting clients to medical appointments, shopping, paying bills, etc.  This course is the perfect complement for students who may want to enroll in Certified Nurse Aide training or for students who want to enter the healthcare field. Includes 75 hours of online lecture and in person lab instruction followed by 8 hours of in person clinicals experience (days, nights, or weekends) to be scheduled at the end of the program at a partner location.

Requirements

The New York State Department of Health does not require a high school diploma; students must be 18.  Students who successfully complete course requirements receive HHA certification and enter the New York State Department of Health Home Care Registry. Students must sign an Assumption of Risk.

Credential

New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Home Health Agency (HHA) Registry Certificate and BLS provider card issued by the American Heart Association.
