We're Here to Support You!

Student Success and Academic Probation

The Academic Success Support Team is here to encourage and support you while on probation. We are also here to provide resources that can help you overcome challenges, restore academic standing, avoid dismissal, and succeed in your academic pursuits.

We believe in your ability to succeed and want you to know that You Are Not Alone at Kingsborough. Many students struggle with the adjustment to college, balancing school with other responsibilities, and focusing on classes due to non-academic issues. With our support, we are confident you can attain your education goals.

Three Ways to Reach Support

If you’re on academic probation, you can email the Academic Success Support Team at: academic.recovery@kbcc.cuny.edu to inquire about your probation and next steps to restore your academic standing.

You are strongly encouraged to make an appointment with your academic advisor or program counselor via Starfish to discuss planning for the upcoming semester. You are also encouraged to work with your academic advisor or program counselor to address any challenges that may negatively impact your progress.

If you’re on satisfactory academic progress probation (SAP), you can contact the (SAP) Unit at 718-368-4644/5651 or email finaid.appeal@kbcc.cuny.edu for more information.

Appointments

If you are part of a special program such as International Student Affairs, ASAP, College Discovery, Veterans, or Access-Ability, please make an appointment with your advisor or counselor via Starfish. When you make an appointment, you’ll receive an email confirmation with instructions for the meeting.

Feel free to email the Academic Success Support Team at: academic.recovery@kbcc.cuny.edu if you have any questions about your probation.
