Pre-Clinical Instructions

You are ONLY eligible to apply for the Pre-Clinical phase if you have completed or will be completing the following Pre-Clinical course sequence (ENG 1200, PSY 1100 and BIO 1100) by the end of the Fall 2025 semester (this includes the Fall 2025 session B - Winter 2026 semester). Before submitting your application, you should meet with your advisor (make an appointment through Navigate) to review your progress toward clinical eligibility.

A student who has not maintained appropriate academic progress, withdrew while failing or has been administratively dismissed from a nursing program at a previous institution is not eligible for admission to the KCC Nursing Program. If you have attended a previous clinical nursing program and left in good academic standing, you must submit the CERTIFICATION OF WITHDRAWAL FROM A NURSING PROGRAM IN GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING FORM.

Please note TEAS Information:

Maximum attempts: A student can take the TEAS exam only two times total (not per year or per school, but in total).

Frequency: You may take the TEAS exam only once per semester during the

official testing period established by Kingsborough Community College (KCC).

Tracking: Every time you take the TEAS exam — no matter where you take it (at KCC or another location) and whether or not you send your scores to KCC — that attempt still counts toward your two allowed attempts.

Example:

  • If you take the TEAS once at another college and once at KCC, that’s two total attempts, and you cannot take it again.
  • If you take it once in the fall semester, you must wait until the spring semester to take it again.
