Welcome to the Healthcare Career Institute! We strive to offer a dynamic set of certificate programs and stand-alone courses for those wishing to pursue a healthcare career. All of our programs and courses have been designed to provide students with the essential skill sets necessary for today’s burgeoning healthcare industry. With decades of experience and training, our faculty provide high quality instruction across all the disciplines. Many of our programs offer students who successfully complete our courses and lab work eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA) certifying examinations, which are nationally recognized credentials in the Allied Health industry. Upon completing our programs, KCC also offers career guidance and assistance to all of our students and graduates. Our ultimate goal is to see every student succeed!

CTF 78/79 - Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

This training program will prepare students for entry-level nursing home or hospital facility positions. A Certified Nurse Aide assists Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) with direct patient care. This hybrid (online and in-person) course introduces students to the needs of the patient, legal/ethical issues, effective communication and anatomical changes accompanying the aging process. It will also cover health and nutrition and the care of persons with cognitive and mental disabilities. Includes 32 hours of supervised clinical experience in a Residential Health Care Facility.

RTP 75 - Emergency Medical Technicians

This training program will prepare students for the New York State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) examination. A certified NYS EMT can work or volunteer anywhere in New York State. Students will learn basic life-saving techniques, including scene safety, patient assessment, fracture management, bleeding control, patient movement, and oxygen administration. EMTs primarily perform emergency and transport ambulance work in the private, municipal, and hospital ambulance sectors.

CTF 98 - Central Sterile Technician

This training program will give students the knowledge and skills to work in a central/supply sterile processing healthcare facility. This course, facilitated by an HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) Instructor, will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to work in a Central Supply/Sterile Processing Healthcare facility. Additional hours to be assigned when class is in session. Three (3) in person labs required; dates and times to be provided during class. Students are responsible for securing CST hands-on training necessary to meet 400-hour certification requirements.
