Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) /Community Habilitation (Com Hab) professionals are passionate about helping individuals reach their goals, achieve milestones, and live more fun and fulfilling lives. This training prepares you to provide personal assistance, emotional support, and personal care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. This 60-hour training will provide the foundation to succeed in a DSP/ComHab role. An employment specialist will connect students to employment opportunities in the field. Students will earn CPR, Mandated Reporter, and Choking Prevention certifications.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; 18 years or older.

Credential

CUNY Certificate of Completion, BLS provider card issued by the American Heart Association,  Mandated Reporter credential and Choking Prevention
