Central Sterile Technician

Description

This training program will give students the knowledge and skills to work in a central/supply sterile processing healthcare facility. This course, facilitated by an HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) Instructor, will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to work in a Central Supply/Sterile Processing Healthcare facility. Additional hours to be assigned when class is in session. Three (3) in person labs required; dates and times to be provided during class. Students are responsible for securing CST hands-on training necessary to meet 400-hour certification requirements. Requirements

No minimum age or High School diploma /GED is required. However, most hospitals hire individuals of working age.

Credential

Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), formerly IAHCSMM. The exam is fully computerized and administered at HSPA testing centers.

Students must secure hands-on training to meet the certification requirements of the 400-hour Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) (formerly IAHCSMM). Students can also test before the 400 hours and earn a provisional HSPA certification.
