What's in your crystal ball?

What's in your crystal ball?

Dear KCC Students,

You are four weeks into the semester and 8 weeks away from the end of the academic year!  Before you know it, you will be a college graduate and a proud KCC Alum!  My message to you this week is that it is never too early to starting thinking about your next steps.   Some of you will transfer to a four-year college;  others may seek new employment or advancement on your job;  and many of you will do both.  You should know that there is a clear path from KCC to many 4 year colleges in CUNY and we also have support to help you get ready to pursue the career of your choice.   If you don't know  what path you want to take , that's okay, because the wide range of courses you take and experiences you have at KCC are meant to expose you to the many potential career possibilities that exist.

I want to take this opportunity to remind you not to fall prey to any phishing scams and  emails promising you employment.  Be advised that the College will never email you unsolicited job opportunities or offers including “secret-mystery shopper” or “personal assistant,” even if they appear to originate from a legitimate college account.

Also, we will never solicit personal information via email, or ask/ instruct you to deposit checks or purchase gift cards. If you receive an email like this, please contact Public Safety at 718-368- 5069 or call the Office of Student Affairs at 718-368-5563.

We are here to help.  If your path is leading toward transfer to a four year college email the Transfer Center at transfer@kbcc.cuy.edu and if your path is leading you toward a new career, contact the Center for Career Development at careerdeveloment@kbcc.cuny.edu.

I know that whatever you decide, that you will be successful.   I hope the rest of your week is amazing.  Stay safe and #MaskUp.

President Schrader
