April showers and May flowers

April showers and May flowers

March 27, 2023

Dear KCC Students,

It’s hard to believe we are approaching the last week of March. April is only a few days away!

April is known as a month  with many rainy days.   There are mixed feelings about rainy days.  Some people love rainy days.  Those are perfect days for staying indoors to watch a good movie or binge watch your favorite tv show, read a good book, or sleep/ nap all day (my favorite).

On the other hand, some people don’t like rainy days at all, because of all the extra precautions/preparations you have to make (rain jackets, rain boots and umbrellas).  Depending on what your plans are rain negatively can affect your day, especially if your plans involve being outdoors.  I personally don’t like the gray skies that rainy days bring with them.

Even without the rain, if your first week of classes have been a bit gray because you are having a hard time in your classes, or you are beginning to think college isn’t for you, then LISTEN UP.

Before you make any decisions (like stop going to class or dropping out altogether) talk to your advisor or you can even reach out to me.

I also need you to know that there are many resources to support you at the college like tutoring, counseling, the Women’s Center, Safe Zone, the Men’s Resource Center and the Access Resource Center.

KCC students, you have come too far; don’t let a bad day or a bad week affect your dreams or goals.

Remember April showers bring May flowers and I can’t wait to see you bloom into your full potential and ultimate success.

Have a great week.
