Dear Students,

Your educational development does not stop when you recieve your college degree. In many jobs, ongoing professional development is important and many times it is required.  Even as President I continue to engage in professional development to improve and refine my skills, and  learn new information.

Recently, I completed my e-SPARC (Sexual and Interpersonal Violence Precevtion and Response Course (SPARC).  I am fortunate to be a part of the City University of New York because the University is  committed to ensur ing a   safe environment where students can  successfully achieve their academic and professional goals and where  facuty and staff can  support them in doing so.

As part of  New York State's Enough is Enough statute , all New York State colleges  are required to  provide ongoing education and training about sexual misconduct to their employees and  students .   To be in full compliance with this law, CUNY implemented  SPARC. This training also includes domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, and sexual violence.   All students (every one, freshmen, continuing, soon to be graduates)   are required to comple te the training. If you have already done so, thank you for doing your part.

If you have not completed the required training  CLICK ON THE  FOLLOWING LINK TO GET STARTED:

https://www.kbcc.cuny.edu/studentaffairs/student_conduct/Sparc.html

  • You will find the eSPARC link n your ‘To Do List’ in your CUNYFirst account, or by logging directly into your Blackboard account.

  • In Blackboard, the SPARC training is found under ‘Organizations’.

  • Please follow the instructions and complete. Failure to complete this training will result in a HOLD on your record.

Regististration for the Fall semester is right around the corner.  If you do not complete the training, it will limit access to several important resources on campus, including registration.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact  studentconduct@kbcc.cuny.edu .

Join me in making our campus safe so that your learning can be successful.

Many thanks,

President Schrader

P.S.  Drop me a line, let me know how you are doing!
