Mark D’Alessandro is an Associate Professor, and the Culinary Arts Program Director at Kingsborough Community College, where he

teaches basic and advanced cooking classes. Prior to joining Kingsborough, he taught at various schools and universities across the

United States. Professor D’Alessandro holds an associate’s degree from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College in culinary

arts, a baccalaureate degree from Florida International University in Hospitality Management a Master of Arts from New York

University in Food Studies, and a Master of Philosophy from The Graduate Center. He is a doctoral candidate whose dissertation

investigates power dynamics and placemaking in niche meat markets.
