Apply as 2nd Degree Student

How to Apply as a Second Degree Student

Students are encouraged to transfer to a senior college and pursue a bachelor's degree after earning the associate degree.   However, for certain career goals, a second degree from KCC may be beneficial.

You must complete a minimum of 30 credits toward your new associate degree at Kingsborough.

The second degree's major must clearly differ from your first degree's major.

To Apply:

ONLINE: Go to Apply to CUNY and click on the undergraduate link to apply as a transfer student by the following deadlines: February 1 for fall; September 15 for spring.

IN PERSON: Check the posted dates in the admissions section of our Admissions Information Center
for direct admissions, which take place in room V-100.

What you'll need:

Your Kingsborough transcript, as well as official transcripts from any other college(s) you may have attended since leaving/graduating Kingsborough.

All applicants not currently enrolled at a CUNY college must pay a $70 non-refundable application fee. If you are currently enrolled at a CUNY college, or you are a veteran, do not pay the fee. If applying online, choose the "Pay Later" option and contact the CUNY Help Desk for Students at admissions@cuny.edu to resolve the issue. If applying in person, see a staff member for assistance.

Be sure to note your Application Control Number, which starts with the letter "W," issued as soon as you submit your application online. You'll need to refer to that number when sending paper transcripts, payment, and/or other supporting documents by mail, and to request application status information.
