About Us

The Kingsborough Community College Foundation is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) philanthropic organization through which individuals, foundations and corporations can make tax exempt gifts to benefit our students, faculty and college. It is governed by an independent board of trustees elected on a rotating basis. The KCC Foundation Board of Trustees represents the commercial, financial, publishing, philanthropic, utilities, legal, real estate, health care, community development, and public relations industries of New York City. In addition, the board members are representatives from our alumni, faculty, and administration.

The primary reason to give to the Kingsborough Community College Foundation is a belief in the College’s mission – to provide high quality education and to support continuous improvement in all areas related to student learning, including faculty development and scholarship, instructional programs, student services, administrative and support staff, and improving the campus environment. Kingsborough has always depended upon the support of our alumni, retirees, community and friends – support for which we are deeply grateful.

The Kingsborough Community College Office of College Advancement supports, encourages, and promotes the academic mission and vision of the College. Through its various offices, it works with individuals, foundations, corporations, corporate foundations and government entities to raise funds to support the needs of students, faculty and scholastic activities. It coordinates all fundraising for the College by fostering relationships with alumni, faculty and staff retirees, and external constituencies. The KCC Office for College Advancement includes: Development, Grants, Alumni Relations, and College Publications.

The KCC Development Office is responsible for all Fundraising Activities, including all Fundraising Events, the Annual Fund, Scholarship Administration; and Planned Giving initiatives.

The Grants Office is the centralized office for coordinating the submission, processing and reporting of grants and contracts. All grant proposals are submitted through College Advancement. The Grants Office provides technical assistance to members of the faculty, staff and administration in obtaining grant funding for projects that further the mission and goals of the college. We are available to help with everything from conceptual proposal development and identification of potential funding sources to constructing line item budgets and budget justifications. Once grants are received, we can assist with post-award services such as providing Primary Investigators, Project Directors, and their designees with training on processing fiscal transactions, coordinating submissions of budget and program modifications, and assisting with interim and final report narratives.

The Office of Alumni Relations provides leadership, services and benefits to some 55,000 alumni. Its mission is to keep the alumni well-informed about the College and to support the College community by raising funds that will directly benefit our students. It coordinates several annual activities such as Homecoming Day and the KCC Walk-a-thon, as well as other alumni events that help raise funds for scholarships.

The Publications Office provides support in all areas of college publications and is responsible for the coordination of graphic and multimedia design for Kingsborough Community College.
