Evan Caccioppoli is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of theatre, film, and speech in the Department of Communications and Performing Arts at Kingsborough Community College. He is a Brooklyn born and raised theatre director, producer, filmmaker, photographer, documentary theatre practitioner, writer, and acting/audition coach. He was the founder and artistic director of Kid Brooklyn Productions, an independent theater production company that operated from 2010 to 2020 in New York and Chicago.

Some past directing credits include WILD by Crystal Skillman (World Premiere in Chicago and New York Premiere, 3 NYIT Nominations), Unbroken by Alexandra Wood (American Premiere), What You Leave Behind by Ken Urban (World Premiere), I Can't Explain It Better Than That by Sarah Shaefer (World Premiere), The Little Dog Laughed, Crave, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, One For The Road, The Last Five Years, and Almost, Maine. He directed the workshops of Billy Baal and The Emilies by J.Stephen Brantley and his original devised/documentary works 8:46:40 (The September 11th Project), Club Olympus, The Circle Game (The Joni Project), Blame it on Dorothy Parker, and In This Breath.

Evan is currently developing a solo semi-autobiographical/documentary theatre piece titled The Eyes of Magnani (gli occhi di Magnani), across the US, UK, and Italy.

As an acting and performance coach, Evan works with private students and teaches workshops in acting technique, song interpretation, scene study, character development, documentary/devised/solo theatre, and performing the works of Tennessee Williams and Contemporary American Playwrights.  His current areas of research involve The History of Queer American Theatre and The Women of Italian Cinema. He has had articles and reviews published by Howlround and New York Theatre Review.

Evan holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from The University of Illinois at Chicago, MA in Educational Theatre from New York University, and MFA in Directing from The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. He also studied and performed in London, Dublin, Australia, and Bulgaria. Evan is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, SAG/AFTRA, ASCAP, the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and PSC-CUNY.
