Making a Course Available

You must make each of your courses AVAILABLE before students can gain access to them. If you do not make the course AVAILABLE, it will show UNAVAILABLE next to it, and it will not be visible to the students.
To make a course available do the following:

  • Click on the course you wish to make available
  • Click on Control Panel
  • Under Course Options click on Settings
  • Click on Course Availability
  • Click on the Yes button to make the course available
  • Click Submit at the lower right

Copying the Contents of a Previous Course into a New Course.
(Assuming that you have backed up the course as outlined above and that the new course is already created)

  • Select the new course.
  • Click on Control Panel
  • Click on Import Package
  • Go to option #2 and click on Browse
  • Go to the sub directory where you saved the backed up copy and click on the compressed zipped file and click on Open
  • Go to Option #3 and select the boxes of the content areas you wish to copy
  • Click on Submit

Note: The course availability page, located in Settings, is used to control access to the course.

 

Course Availability

To make a course available:

  • In Blackboard click on the course.
  • Click on Control Panel
  • Under Course Options, click on Settings
  • Click on Course Availability and check yes

Click on Submit

Note: Courses that are unavailable will not appear in the Course Catalog.
