Michael Mattia, PT DPT MS MHA is a graduate of the SUNY Downstate College of Health Related Professions class of 1980. He has been a member of the APTA and NYPTA since 1979. Dr. Mattia began his career at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City. He received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy in Physical Therapy from the Long Island University Brooklyn in 1985. During that same year, Dr. Mattia founded Mattia Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, LLC an independent private Physical Therapy practice located in Brooklyn, NY, which has just celebrated its 30th year of service to the community.
He received his DPT from Temple University in 2005 and a Master of Health Administration from Ohio University in 2012. Dr. Mattia is the President of the New York Physical Therapy Association and has presented many lectures to health care practitioners and to the community on the role of the physical therapist in health, wellness, prevention, and rehabilitation. His unique skill set and career experiences have enabled him to successfully lead his organizations in a rapidly evolving health care delivery system.

Mark Amir, PT, DPT, Dip MDT Adjunct Lecturer
Dr.Amir obtained a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Touro College in 1993 after graduating from Brooklyn College with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education. In 1998, he was one of the select few international graduates of the McKenzie Institute, where he became a diplomate of MDT (Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy). He received his Doctorate Degree in 2010. In 2016, Mark obtained a Masters in Public Health degree from the City University of New York.
