WAC for Writing Fellows |
Kingsborough is honored to host advanced doctoral candidates from the Graduate Center each year as part of its Writing Across the Curriculum program. The primary responsibility of a CUNY Writing Fellow at KCC is to support our goal of raising consciousness about writing and its role in instruction throughout the college. A student who elects to spend an academic year at Kingsborough can expect...
- An intensive teaching practicum experience resulting in the creation of a course portfolio.
- The support of a collegial group of Fellows from many different disciplines in weekly meetings.
- Collaborative work with KCC faculty from many disciplines.
- Work with students from writing intensive and Honors sections on their assignments.
- The option to make a contribution to the program depending on his own interests and abilities.
Additional reasons for working at Kingsborough include,
- A spectacular setting at the tip of Manhattan Beach on Sheepshead Bay.
- A cafeteria that opens up onto a beach and an office near a shark tank.
- Proximity to interesting immigrant neighborhoods with great shopping.
- Membership in an institution designated one of the top four community colleges in the nation.
