Eligibility for the College Discovery Program
For First-Time College Freshman Students:
- High school graduate or earned a state-approved equivalency diploma (GED)
- American citizen or legal resident
- New York City residency minimum of one year
- Demonstrate financial need as set by the New York State guidelines
- Considered academically under-prepared, as set by the CUNY College Discovery Program admissions criteria, but exhibit academic potential
- Have not previously attended college or any other post-secondary institution
- Must have an approved summer experience if necessary
For Transfer Students:
- Must have been enrolled in a similar program (HEOP, EOP, SEEK, CD) at their previous college in addition to meeting other eligibility criteria.
- Must provide a Transfer Request Form from the SEEK/College Discovery Program office of previous college. It may be brought in personally, mailed or faxed to the College Discovery Office. Fax Number (718) 368-5997.
- Military veterans who may have earned up to 18 credits of college-level work prior to entrance into the military service may also be eligible to transfer. For more details, inquire with program office (718) 368 - 5520.
