Exciting study abroad opportunity for KCC students
FRIENDS WORLD PROGRAM IN COSTA RICA, June 25-July 25, 2006

Offered through Long Island University ( www.liu.edu/friendsworld) and funded by the DeWitt Wallace Foundation grant, this unique experiential, global learning program focused on “Peace and Reconciliation” has been made available to Kingsborough students. The Program is a one-month term in which participants earn six LIU undergraduate credits: a 3-credit course in Spanish language and a 3-credit course in Peace and Reconciliation.

Each student selected to participate in the program will be funded by the grant for approximately $5000 of the total $6000 cost of the program. The total out of pocket cost to the KCC student for the entire program, including travel to and from Costa Rica, will be around $1000. Any student who cannot afford to pay this cost will be considered for additional aid.

All students with a GPA of 3.00 or above, 24 or more credits completed, and all basic skills requirements satisfied are eligible to apply.
