It is important to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (aka FAFSA) -- even if you think you won’t qualify for financial aid. Here are some reasons why:

  1. Circumstances change. You may not have qualified for a particular program last year, but do now.
  2. You won’t be considered for need-based or merit-based scholarships.
  3. You won’t be able to apply for a low-cost federal student loan.
  4. ASAP students might not receive all of the financial benefits of the program. If you use PELL for books and/or living expenses, the earlier you file, the earlier you’ll receive those funds, making it easier to budget for college.

Don’t leave money on the table.
Complete your Fall 2017–Spring 2018 FAFSA by June 30 at www.fafsa.gov!

NEED HELP COMPLETING YOUR FAFSA? Come to the KCC Financial Aid Lab in room V-201. We’re open Monday to Thursday from 9am-5pm, and when classes are in session, Tuesday & Wednesday from 9am-8pm.

You’ll need to bring your social security number; your green card (if you are not a U.S. citizen); your 2015 federal income tax returns, W-2s, & other records of money earned; and, if applicable, bank statements & records of investments.
