| Dorothy Gale Staff Nurse Please join us in welcoming Dorothy Gale, RN to the Office of Health Services. She is a graduate of Kingsborough Community College's Nursing Program from the class of 1995. Ms. Gale comes with extensive experience as a NYCDOH - Bureau of School Health - Public Health Nurse and she has worked as a P/T nurse in our office during the evening since 2001. She is also a First Aid/CPR/AED Certified Instructor. |

TO: ALL FACULTY AND STAFF RE: APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER Dean David Gomez and I are very pleased to announce that Asif Hussain has been appointed as Kingsborough’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, Mr. Hussain will be responsible for Kingsborough’s Office of Information Technology Services. This Office will combine Administrative Technology, Instructional Technology, Telecommunications and Office Services. Mr. Hussain will report to both Dean Gomez and me. Mr. Hussain joins Kingsborough after 12 years at the Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) the nation’s leading non profit involved in community development. He was most recently the Director of Networking, Client Services and Special Projects at LISC. Prior to joining LISC, Mr. Hussain was a Sr. System Analyst at the State of New York Mortgage Agency. Technology already plays a critical role in all aspects of instruction and administration at Kingsborough. President Peruggi, Dean Gomez and I would like to thank Jonathan Hagler, Marc Wiskoff, Kevin O’Shea and the entire staff of our various technology departments for their contribution to date. We are confident that under Asif’s leadership, the new Office of Information Technology Services will successfully integrate our existing technological capacity and will lead to greater use of efficient and effective technologies in all aspects of campus life. Gila Rohr Human Resource Generalist Congratulations to Gila Rohr who was recently appointed to the position of Human Resource Generalist at Kingsborough Community College. Gila began as an evening student at the College in 1992. She transferred to the day session when her youngest child was old enough to attend the Muriel Langsam Childhood Center. Upon earning her A.A.S. in Early Childhood Education, she began working at the Center as a part-time Assistant Teacher, while continuing to pursue her B.A. in the evening. In 1999, she was hired as a CUNY Office Assistant in the Office of Human Resources and Labor Relations. She received her B.A. in Psychology from the College of Staten Island in January, 2005. Eileen Cunningham Alvaro Morgades (Javier) Information Center Alvaro Morgades (Javier) arrived at Kingsborough on August 15 as a recruiter in the Admissions Information Center. Previously he was an Admission Counselor at Marymount Manhattan College for 7 years, where he also completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration through their Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP). During those years, the College experienced substantial increases in new students. Javier was attracted to Kingsborough for its commitment to diversity and service to New York City students. |
