Student Handbook Counseling & Related Services
Is there an Orientation for new students?
Yes, Freshman Services and College Advisement, in collaboration with the Office of Career Counseling, Placement and Transfer, and the Office of Student Life have developed a “new student” orientation known as Campus Fest, to assist students with their transition to college.
Entering a new college setting, no matter how large or small, can be a bit frightening at first. Students are in a new environment, with new people and have much more independence than ever before! Campus Fest is aimed at alleviating some of the anxiety surrounding these issues as well as answering student questions about Kingsborough Community College. It is the first opportunity to meet other incoming students, receive information about college resources and experience our beautiful college campus.
Campus Fest is an excellent opportunity to help you feel prepared to begin college and to give you the greatest opportunity to start strongly. It takes place twice a year for students who have never attended Kingsborough before. At Campus Fest, you can:
* Meet other new students and make friends before the semester starts
* Meet your advisors, faculty and other support staff
* Learn about different courses
* Learn about student clubs, sports activities, or performance opportunities offered by the college
* Get answers for your financial aid or payment questions
If you would like more information on orientation, please check our website: http://www.kbcc.cuny.edu//fye/index.html, email us at fyeorientation@kbcc.cuny.edu or call us at 718-368-4806.
