Freshman Services Open House
This event is intended to give freshmen students the opportunity to socialize with one another, to encourage them to participate in extra-curricular activities, and to remind them of the services offered by Freshman Services all in a fun-filled atmosphere with food, music, games, give-aways and raffle prizes. Students have an opportunity to meet and engage with their advisors, set-up advisement appointments, learn about opportunities and services from various departments and programs. All Open houses are free to attend and are held each fall and spring semester.
Health Majors Expo
This event is an opportunity for students to learn more about the health careers/programs in Nursing, Physical Therapy Assistant, Surgical Technology, Emergency Medical Services and Polysomnographic Technology. Faculty from these disciplines along with their star students give a brief description of the program and career options available. After each presentation, there is a question/answer period. Refreshments are served. Students will need to sign up to reserve a seat as space is limited. This event is offered each fall and spring semester.
This is a tabling event where our advisors are available right outside of our office during the first week of school. We recognize how crazy the first week of classes can be so we want to give students access to our advisors that can help with general questions about their class schedules, location of classrooms, academic departments, etc. Handouts and flyers are also distributed to students about our program offerings as well as snacks and some give-aways.
