: The Hope Reichbach Fund actively seeks passionate, enthusiastic, driven college students who are looking for a future in civic leadership in the nonprofit sector. The Hope Fund facilitates PAID summer internships at Brooklyn based organizations, provides mentorship and a network of contacts to our students, and the opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience without working for free. Applicants have the option of applying with a confirmed internship in place or having the Fund place them at one. Past recipients have worked at a variety of non- profit and advocacy organizations including: Brooklyn Community Services, Legal Aid, Gowanus Canal Conservancy, VOCAL-NY, Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, Groundswell Community Mural Project, Brooklyn Defender Services, and the HOPE Program. Hope was a rising star in Brooklyn politics with unfailing dedication to her community and the power of young people to make change. Her legacy and commitment to local activism lives on through Hope Fund Fellows, the next generation of Brooklyn leaders.
Qualifications or Eligibility:• Must be a college student in his or her freshman or sophomore year • Must be in receipt of a significant amount of financial aid • Must be a resident of one of New York City’s five boroughs
Application Requirements:To apply, you must submit a completed application form, resume (detailing your educational background, student activities, awards and honors, work experience and computer and language skills), short essays, 2 academic/professional references and FAFSA documentation letter. Please schedule an appointment with an Internship Counselor in C-102 or M101 for further assistance.
Internship Type:
Stipend_or_Credit:Each student will receive $3,500 for 10 weeks of full time work, plus unlimited metro cards. Academic credit is recommended
