Senator Gillibrand’s Senate internship program provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn and serve through first-hand participation in government service, and the legislative process. The program is intended to provide participants with the tools, skills, and experience that they can readily apply to future challenges and professional pursuits. We expect a great deal from our interns. Candidates will have a diverse, challenging experience and make a genuine contribution to Senator Gillibrand’s work on behalf of New York and the nation.
Interns at the Senator's office will work in one or more of the following departments:
• Constituent Affairs – Research
• Press - Community & Government Affairs
• Office of the State Director
Interns have the opportunity to work in the DC office or the local NYC Office.
|Qualifications or Eligibility:||• Must be enrolled in college or a recent graduate
• Must be able to intern for 15 hours per week
• Must be available for the Summer (May- August)
|Application Requirements:||To apply, you must submit an application, transcript and one reference. A thorough background check will be performed. Schedule an appointment with an Internship Counselor in Room C-102.|
|Stipend_or_Credit:||Academic Credit Required. Students are encouraged to enroll in either the SD11/SD12 Internship Seminar or a departmental capstone course.|
