BET connects with its target audience in a way no other media outlet can providing hit music, entertainment and news programming that is reflective of their experiences such as: 106 & PARK. In addition, outstanding mega-specials such as the BET AWARDS (the #1 Awards Show on Cable Television), BET HIP-HOP AWARDS and CELEBRATION OF GOSPEL keep viewers regularly tuned in for the latest and greatest in black entertainment. Reaching more than 84 million homes, BET can be seen in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Black Entertainment Television is dedicated to providing a solid learning foundation for student interns. The Black Entertainment Television Internship Program allows students to receive first-hand knowledge of the rewards and challenges of working for a multi-faceted entertainment company. Students will learn about BET’s long and short-term goals and objectives, as well as gain an introductory experience into both the corporate and television production arenas. Internships available in the following areas:
• BET Interactive
• BET International
• Creative Services
• Fashion
• Legal
• Music Programming
• Production
Qualifications or Eligibility:• Must be able to intern for 16 hours per week for a minimum of 8 weeks during standard Monday – Friday 9 -5 work hours • Must be available to interview and work in the City/State where the internship is taking place. • Must be currently enrolled in college (internship course credit is required) • Must have completed twenty-four or more credits
Application Requirements:All applicants must submit a completed application (including a 1-2 page essay), cover letter stating areas of interest, current resume, official transcript (in a sealed envelope stamped with the school’s seal), official letter from your school/institution verifying enrollment in an internship course and will receive academic credit upon completion, and three (3) letters of recommendation from an employer, advisor, or professor. Eligible students who are interested in applying for this internship should visit C-102 or M101 to meet with an Internship Counselor. You MUST bring a copy of your resume and cover letter with you the day of your scheduled appointment.

Stipend_or_Credit:Academic Credit Required. Students must enroll in either the SD11/SD12 Internship Seminar.
