This November at Kingsborough is Movember!

There will be several events happening over the course of the month and we hope you can attend.

On Monday November 11th we will be presenting two talks:

a panel-THE BENEFITS OF EARLY DETECTION FOR YOUNG MEN

from 12:40 p.m. -1:40 p.m. in the Hall of Flags. The expert panel will be facilitated around the topic of how Men can make healthier decisions and the dire consequences of not making better decisions. The panel will be moderated by our very own Dr. Micah Griffin, PhD, MS, MHA, Director of Health Programs. Panelist will be Gerald Maitre, LMSW Director CUNY EDGE, Louisdon Pierre, MD, MBA, FCCM Chief Pediatric Care Director, Inpatient Services The Brooklyn Hospital Center & President and Co founder of Pediatric Universal Life-Saving Effort and Matthew Lambert, LMT ,CPT Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Massage Therapist.

a keynote address- Surthrival Mode (Sur-thrive-al) from 1:50 p.m. - 2:50 p.m. in the Hall of Flags. Our speaker Pervis Taylor, III, M.A., is an award-winning celebrity life coach, speaker and author of Surthrival Mode. As a result of his own trauma, Pervis has dedicated his life to the betterment of one's mental and emotional growth. For the keynote he will share his experience and philosophy with us.

Please see the attached flyer to share with students and anyone else you think may be interested in attending. All students, faculty and staff are welcome, although Movember focuses on Men’s Health issues, women play a crucial role in getting men to take better care of themselves and will benefit greatly from participating.

Movember is really about the mustache.

As such we will be hosting a mustache contest (Grow a Stache and Win Some Cash) for students. Hopefully we will see many of you and your students at the above events, but Movember is really about the mustache. As such we will be hosting a mustache contest (Grow a Stache and Win Some Cash) for students. It would be great if you could advertise the contest to your students. TOP prize is a $100 gift card, with 4 runner up $25 gift cards also up for grabs. Judging of the mustaches will happen on Dec 2nd at 1pm in room V219. November 15th is the last day that students can sign up.
